Message from Minister of MOTC

Stamp collecting is a noble cultural activity, at once enjoyable and educational. Wandering through the vast realms contained in stamps’ square inches, collectors savor stamps’ cultural and artistic content as they learn about different nations’ customs and natural ecologies as well as their political and economic systems. Consequently, holding stamp exhibitions has become a delightful way to encourage philatelists from various countries to make friends through stamps. These events provide a highly meaningful way to engage in cultural diplomacy.

Located in the heart of the Asia-Pacific region, Taiwan serves as an important hub for transportation and logistics. Just as stamp collecting offers so much to enjoy, with a wealth of astonishing stories held within the small confines of stamps, Taiwan boasts richly diverse tourism resources. Believing that tourism can help build the nation, we have been continually promoting the development of sustainable tourism as we have adapted to domestic and international tourism trends and integrated attractions, historic sites, and cultural events into tourism’s industrial chains, all the while encouraging local revitalization. Our paramount goal is to leave a lasting impression on travelers.

Chunghwa Post has spared no effort in promoting stamp collecting activities. Thanks to years of dedication, the level of philately here has markedly improved, earning Taiwan a prominent place in international philately. The TAIPEI 2023-39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition aims not only to foster camaraderie among stamp enthusiasts from around the world and facilitate mutual learning and exchange, but also, even more importantly, to showcase Taiwan and serve as an invitation to people from around the world to come and explore. We also hope the exhibition will help to foster a sense of national pride among our people.

On this auspicious occasion, I would like to extend my wholehearted welcome to all our distinguished guests. I would also like to express my gratitude for the rich experience of the organizing committee as well as the collective strength of philatelic groups from around the world. Thanks to their hard work, we can foster broader international exchanges and cooperation within the philatelic community. It is my hope that as you appreciate the exquisite stamp collections here, you will also have an opportunity to visit attractions, savor authentic cuisine, and enjoy the beauty of this treasure island.

May the TAIPEI 2023-39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition proceed smoothly and successfully, bringing new achievements and innovations!

Wang, Kwo-Tsai
Honorary President of Organizing Committee of TAIPEI 2023-39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition
Minister of Ministry of Transportation and Communications

Message from Chairman of Chunghwa Post Co., Ltd.

After the severe hardships imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the eagerly awaited TAIPEI 2023-39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition presents a rare opportunity to gather and celebrate. The exhibition will be held at Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1 from August 11-15, 2023. All are welcome to come and form bonds of friendship over a common love of stamps.

Combining innovative techniques with modern technology, the exhibition incorporates images of Taiwan to create an atmosphere that is intellectually stimulating, enjoyable, lively, and fun. It will provide a platform for philatelic enthusiasts to gather, observe, and exchange knowledge. The exhibition’s organizers have borne the important responsibility of promoting the image of Taiwan and its postal service, fostering in different generations an appreciation for stamps that can lead to new perspectives on Taiwan and greater knowledge of the world.

The exhibition will showcase about 1,050 frames in precious philatelic collections from both Taiwan and overseas. The exhibits are top notch—both in terms of their organization and philatelic research as well as the condition and rarity of the stamps displayed. Competition is expected to be intense. What’s more, organizers have specially arranged for 21 Grand Prix-winning exhibits from the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately (FIAP) to be shown. The exhibition thus provides philatelists with excellent models to study along with abundant opportunities to enhance their own collections.

I would like to conclude by expressing my gratitude for the hard work of the Chinese Taipei Philatelic Federation and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, as well as for the assistance and support of philatelic communities around the world. Let me extend a warm welcome to all attendees, including distinguished guests from Taiwan and abroad, commissioners, judges, postal administrators from various nations, stamp dealers, exhibitors, and philatelic enthusiasts. May all of you have wonderful and unforgettable experiences here!

Message from President of Chinese Taipei Philatelic Federation

It was determined way back in 2018 that Taipei would host the 39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition, but the exhibition was postponed several times after the COVID-19 epidemic swept the world.  The delays only made philatelists anticipate this international gathering with greater eagerness.

A grand occasion for Asian philately, the exhibition features displays of precious philatelic items and outstanding stamp exhibits, as well as a rich schedule of captivating activities. It brings together philatelists to form bonds of friendship as they appreciate together the vast realms contained within the small spaces of stamps from around the world and gain a sense of these stamps’ special charms and historical values in different cultures.

The achievements of Taiwan’s previous stamp exhibitions have been clear for all to see, and this year’s gathering is likewise certain to make its mark. I would like to express my gratitude to Chunghwa Post and the members of the organizing committee for their meticulous preparations and offer my thanks to the exhibitors, commissioners, judges, and co-organizers for their hard work. On behalf of the Chinese Taipei Philatelic Federation, I invite everyone to attend this glorious philatelic occasion. May the TAIPEI 2023-39th Asian International Stamp Exhibition be a full and resounding success!
